Natural Cycles began in an unlikely place - the CERN particle accelerator. Physicist Elina Berglund Scherwitzl developed the algorithm that would become the world’s first medically recognized digital contraceptive. Together with her husband Raoul, she created an app that uses body temperature and menstrual data to map a woman’s cycle - completely hormone-free.
Today Natural Cycles is used by millions of women worldwide and the app is approved in the EU, the U.S. and several other countries. The team, based in Stockholm, works at the intersection of technology, research and women’s health. Developers, researchers and designers here are dedicated to creating a more personalized, evidence-based alternative to traditional contraceptives.
They’re growing fast - if you like the idea of improving lives one cycle at a time, Natural Cycles is a company worth watching.
